Before you pay
Ask which documents the rental company accepts, what is included, the deposit amount, return conditions and how a breakdown is handled. Check the requirements of your driving licence, permit and travel insurance before travelling; they depend on your citizenship and vehicle category.
Inspect the vehicle
Photograph the scooter from every side before leaving. Test brakes, lights, indicators, tyres, mirrors and fuel level. Ask for a properly fitting helmet. Goa’s transport and police guidance makes helmet use a legal and practical safety requirement for two-wheelers.
Your first ride
Traffic in India can feel very different. Make the first ride in daylight, on a short familiar route and without a deadline. Do not use a phone while riding, never ride after alcohol, and choose a taxi when you are tired or unsure.
A simple rule
If the documents, vehicle condition or rental terms feel unclear, walk away and choose another option. A good rental should make the process transparent, not rushed.
